Our social responsibility
Suppliers
Our suppliers are a vital part of our organisation. We create flexible working opportunities for many language service suppliers.
Environment
Our business has no significant environmental impact. However, we consider sustainability and strive to minimise our environmental impact.
Employees
We aim to be a responsible employer, by creating a workplace that promotes diversity and treats employees equally, and fostering professional development.
Support project
Semantix is a platinum sponsor of Translators Without Borders (TWB).
Through our sponsorship we provide financial support to the organisation. This goes hand in hand with the work we do every day – helping people to understand each other through translation. That is why we want to support TWB’s work and use translation to improve people’s lives. One reason that Semantix has chosen to support TWB – besides the fact that their core activities match ours – is how they work together with other aid organisations.
By specialising in what they do best – translation – TWB contributes with meaningful, much-needed support, meaning that a large number of non-profit aid organisations can focus on their core activities – helping vulnerable people – and as a result, make a bigger difference.
Cooperation with the World Health Organization
One example of where TWB made a difference is their cooperation with the World Health Organization during the Ebola epidemic. At this time, healthcare information and other things were translated into 30 languages. The aim was to expose the false rumours in circulation about Ebola that hindered the aid organisations’ work.
During the on-going refugee crisis in Europe, TWB has collaborated with the UN refugee agency –UNHCR, Internews, IFRC, MercyCorps, DRC, Oxfam, Save the Children and many more, by providing them with translations around the clock into languages such as Arabic, Kurdish, Urdu, Dari, Pashto and Tigrinya.
